WISCO Survey - Numeric Entry Questions

Numeric entry survey questions accept open ended numeric responses. Question type 17 (Numeric Entry) is used for a single numerical response. Question type 9 (Numeric Group) is used when up to 9 numeric responses need to be grouped together. Question type 13 (Numeric Group - Huge) allows up to 27 numeric responses. The maximum value that can be entered for each response is 99,999,999 (8 digits). The maximum value can be restricted to a lower value when the question is created. These question types allow decimal numeric entries. If you used a survey question "How is your advertising budget distributed? The entered percentages should total 100%.', a maximum value to be entered in any of the edit boxes should be set at 100.

Question type 10 (3-Column Numeric Matrix) allows up to 3 numbers to be entered for each of the 9 choices (rows). The maximum value that can be entered for each response is 99,999,999 (8 digits). The maximum value can be restricted to a lower value when the question is entered. This question type allows numeric entries with up to 3 decimal places.

Question type 27 (5-Column Numeric Matrix) allows up to 5 numbers to be entered for each of the 6 choices (rows). Question type 23 (5-Column Numeric Matrix - Huge) allows up to 5 numbers to be entered for each of the 16 choices (rows). The maximum integer value that can be entered for each response is 999 (3 digits). A lower maximum value can be set when the questions are entered. Decimals can not be entered for these two question types.

Multi-Column Numeric Matrix question types (10, 23, and 27) include an additional option. The values in each column can be added, and each cell can include a percentage of the column total, or the report can include cell averages.

If we wanted to separate out those responses that advertised on television, we would enter <0 in the edit box. If we wanted to separate out those responses that spent more than 20% of media budget on television, we would enter >20 in the edit box. If you wanted exactly 3%, you would enter either =3 or 3. The equal sign is optional. A range of values, 10-20 can also be checked by entering the minimum and maximum values separated by a dash.
